Looking for a sport that relies mostly on yourself but has as much social interaction as you choose to have? Mountain biking is a great way to connect with nature, people and yourself as you develop skills in a fun and safe environment.
This year will see regular skills development sessions, tailored to high school students, held around town on Wednesday afternoons. Young people will also be able to join in on the general skill sessions being run on Sunday mornings.
From 12 years old, young people are able to race in club races (there are some time rules) as well as the local school races being held in Mackay during Term Two this year. For those who take their racing seriously there will be opportunity for higher level coaching sessions with Level 1 Coach, Mr Peter Lister. State and National level racing is also encouraged for those willing to put in the training.
Keep an eye on the MAD MTBC Facebook page for information about registering for the various skill sessions.
