Rowallan Park

hi_la-09-714

Hi everyone, sorry about “War and Peace” but:

I’ve had a phone call from Barry Spratt (Caretaker) of Rowallan Park explaining that following the recent upgrading of the access road we need to be conscious of the maximum speed limit of 30 KLM/Hour between the bitumen and front gate to the park.  Please be conscious of this speed limit so as not to antagonise the property owners along the easement, note the access road is an easement, NOT A PUBLIC ROAD.

Also a flag has been set up at the Eagle Camp turn-off, please ensure that the flag is “posted” so that Barry is aware of your presence at the park (we no longer have to announce our arrival in person…..apparently we where driving him MAD, how appropriate JJ).  On your departure of the park, providing you are the last person to do so, then the flag should be taken down.  SO:  Flag up when you arrive, Flag down when you leave unless someone else is out.

Additional to the above we will also have a white board set-up at the flag, the idea being that you raise the flag, write your name and ride.  If someone else rocks up for a ride, they only need to write their name, if you leave and their name is still on the board simply wipe your name and leave.

Reminder: That the Park access fee is $2 per day, per MAD MTBC Inc member.  Access for non-members is strictly restricted to three (3) visits or club rides, after which you will be expected to join both MAD MTBC Inc and MTBA.  This is a self regulating requirement, and as members we should encourage non-members to participate in our sport (and facilities) but there are public liability issues that we must be conscious of.  Barry will be setting a collection tin up at the flag station, it is an honesty system so please don’t let the club down.

With all of these important matters addressed, please go forth and smash yourselves on the trails.

Cheers

Rob

P.S:  If you have managed to get this far without falling asleep, please take time to read the attached park rules.
